Dr. Eric Davis is a native of Brooklyn, New York, but calls Belhaven, North Carolina his home. He is the youngest of four children born to his wonderful mother, Dorothy Davis. Dr. Davis graduated from John A. Wilkinson High School in Belhaven, NC with honors in 1984. He then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. After practicing dental hygiene and teaching at Tennessee State University, he then enrolled in Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Davis excelled while at Meharry as he made the Dean’s List throughout his matriculation. As a tribute to his leadership skills, he was voted class president for four straight years and was part-time faculty in the Department of Endodontics during his senior year. He graduated, with honors, from Meharry in 2001.

As a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and alumnus of Meharry, Dr. Davis is committed to serving the underserved and being a positive role model in his community. He continually mentors future and present dental students at his private offices as well as speaking at local middle schools, high schools and colleges. He has returned to Meharry to give lectures on the “Transition from dental school to the “real world” of dentistry.” His mission in private practice is to provide the highest quality dental care in a clean, safe, professional environment in a timely manner.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, and Olde North State Dental Society. He recently achieved Mastership status as a member of the American Dental Implantology Association. He currently serves on the University of North Carolina School of Dental Hygiene’s Community Advisory Board as well as being a member of M & F Bank Community Advisory Board. He has been voted Mentor of the Year by the University of North Carolina Student National Dental Association. Dr. Davis is recognized by his peers as a leader in his field and was chosen as one of the “Top Dentist in Durham” by the Durham Magazine for 2010. He maintains two private practices located in Durham and Hillsborough, North Carolina and has over twenty full and part time employees.

Dr. Davis’s most coveted prize is his loving family. He has been married to his loving wife, Attorney Anissa Nicole Graham-Davis, for over 16years and they are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Alyssa Laurice, and Arica Patrice.

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Michigan – Flint, Dr. Gayar blended his affinity for healthcare and artistic craftsmanship into a dentistry career at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Inspired by his family ties to medicine and a knack for consoling anxious patients, he prides himself on delivering patient-centered, empathetic care.

When he’s not lighting up the office with dazzling new smiles, you might find Dr. Gayar engaging in some of his many crafts such as sewing (If you spot him donning a stylish scrub cap, there’s a good chance it’s a product of his own!), playing soccer, playing video games with friends, or reading. His home life? Ruled by his adorable cat, Pluto.

A member of the American Dental Association and an enthusiast for volunteering, Dr. Gayar is not just a dentist; he’s your dental ally, ensuring your comfort, meeting your needs, and perhaps sharing a smile or two about his latest crafts or Pluto’s antics!
